Duty Day - Basic Information

Smooth-running game days are the result of planning and coordinated effort.

Some activities, such as staffing the canteen and BBQ brings valuable revenue into the Club, as well as providing much-wanted refreshments to players and spectators. All proceeds raised via the canteen go back into the club.

Other activities are a requirement placed on us by Macarthur to ensure the games run smoothly. When the club does not provide people to perform these roles, we are fined, or worse.

When your team is rostered on for its "Duty Day", two areas need to be covered:

1. Canteen - including the canteen and BBQ

2. Ground Official

We understand that we all have busy lives but the our club cannot run without parent help. Any time you can give (even an hour) is very much appreciated.

By the way, it is not only mothers who can help out in the canteen, fathers are more than welcome too!

How Duty Day is Allocated

Saturdays: a roster for all mini/junior Tahmoor soccer teams is created as soon the draw for the season has been received from Macarthur Soccer Association. The Canteen Manager will try to pair up U6 & U7 mini teams to compensate for the small number of players (and therefore small number of parent helpers). This will depend on the draw that the Macarthur Soccer Association produce

Sundays: Not many people realise but the Canteen Assistants are around both Saturday and Sunday running the canteen. This year Seniors will be included in the Roster.

Duty Days will be distributed as evenly as possible across all teams. Whether teams are allocated 1-2 full days or 1-2 half days will depend on the soccer draw and how many teams have registered with the Tahmoor Soccer Club.

After the initial canteen roster, there will be a second final roster handed out when Macarthur have finalised all their changes to the draw. The final roster will take into account these changes and some teams will need to have their duty days changed because of it. Please disregard the first roster once the second roster has come out.

The canteen roster will be:
  • given to all Coaches and Managers via email, and reminded in the week before their team is rostered on, to enable the Coaches / Managers to organise their team for the day or half day they have been allocated.
  • placed in their team file located in the canteen. It is up to the Coach / Manager to relay this information to the parents on their team.
  • available for viewing on this website, and
  • will be displayed as a monthly roster on the canteen pin board.
