Below
is important information, created by Kaylene Scrimgeour (Canteen Manager)
relating to Duty Day, particularly in
regard to Canteen.
The following is required when performing your duty day:
-
I have made a sign on sheet for this year, more so that I can learn people's names and thank those who have put in more than their fair share of work. The sign on sheet will be located in the filing cabinet.
-
To run efficiently the canteen requires a minimum 2 helpers serving in the canteen and two helpers cooking / serving at the BBQ. It is up to the teams to organise themselves and allocate shared duties for their allotted time.
-
Again I will try to have all prices rounded to 50 cent increments to help with the ease of adding up prices and giving out change.
-
There will be a Canteen Assistant rostered on to oversee the running of the canteen. They are there to ensure that the canteen runs smoothly, answer queries, assist helpers who are having problems and ensure that stock is available.
FIRST THING IN THE MORNING
The Canteen Assistant will open the canteen an hour
before the first teams arrive. It would be nice if helpers could also turn up at
this time to help with the following:
IN
THE CANTEEN
- Set up tea / coffee items
- Cut round bread rolls for the BBQ
and long rolls for the hot hogs.
- Add pies / sausage rolls to pie
warmer.
- Add hot dogs & cut rolls to hot
dog warmer.
- Place lollies / chips onto the
shelves.
- Start serving customers
AT
THE BBQ
- Set up tables, cooking utensils
-
Set up BBQ and turn on to get warmed up.
-
Start Cooking for breakfast people
DURING THE LAST GAME
Whilst the Canteen Assistant is sorting stock, cleaning
equipment and counting monies it would be appreciated if helpers could do the
following:
IN
THE CANTEEN
-
Pack away
lollies / chips.
-
Pack away tea /
coffee items.
-
Clean down
benches.
-
Turn off pie
warmers so they cool down to be cleaned.
AT
THE BBQ
-
Turn off BBQ, clean and pack away.
-
Wash up BBQ utensils and pack away.
-
Wipe down tables
and pack away.
If the roster is drawn up as half days, there will be a
half hour overlap between rosters. This is to ensure a smooth transition from
one team to the next.
Many hands do make light work and the more parents that
are involved with helping the less we all have to do and therefore we can all
enjoy the 2010 season.
If anybody would like to be a Canteen Assistant please
let me know via the canteen email:
canteen@tahmoorsoccerclub.com.au
Canteen Assistants are involved with overseeing the
canteen, ordering, receiving / unstacking orders, stock takes, making up lolly
bags, purchasing incidentals and washing down the canteen to ensure that it is
as hygienic as we can possibly make it. Each role is allocated to an assistant
or shared between assistants so that we are not living the soccer season in the
canteen and miss seeing owe own children play.
